Biography

Lives and works in Mol, Belgium.

THE EARLY YEARS

1963 -1968

First art courses at the local Academy of Arts in Mol, Belgium, followed by a formal training in drawing and oil painting by Mr. Fred Jocqué who, in his own inimitable way, taught her skills in all areas of art and gave her the best visual training available.

1967 -1970

Further first grade art education at the H. Graf Institute in Turnhout, Belgium.

1970 -1973

Graduated in Graphic design at the St. Lucas Institute in Antwerp, Belgium. Spent her early years working closely with her husband as an interior designer. Continues oil painting for both private or corporate clients.

THE RECENT YEARS

2003

First exhibition at the Stephanie Hoppen Gallery in London, followed by several group and solo exhibitions.

2004

Release of the book The New Decorating with Pictures by Stephanie Hoppen. The painting Red apples on sand, photographed by Simon Upton, was chosen as the cover item of the American edition.

2006

January - work has been accepted to be exhibited at the London Art Fair.
November - Still life exhibition at Vleminckveld, Antwerp.

2009

January - First show of Van der Voort's modern work at the London Art Fair.
October - Exhibition at Art London.

2010-2011

January - Exhibition at the London Art Fair.

2012

January-Solo exhibition 'Modernism' at the Stephanie Hoppen Gallery in London.
